To support our ambitious growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.
The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Facilitee, you will play a crucial role in driving team motivation, inspiring excellence, and contributing to higher performance levels. Collaborating closely with our seasoned Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a talented team of 5 engineers (both front and backend specialists), your primary focus will be on the backend aspects of our software. This role also presents an exciting opportunity for professional development, with the potential for growth into a Principal or Leadership position as we continue to expand and innovate. You will be responsible for
- Ensuring the quality and performance of our product
- Set and guide the technical roadmap aligning with company goals.
- Build and inspire a high-performing team.
What you will be doing
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on strategic product development, including roadmap planning and usability enhancements.
- Contribute directly to backend and infrastructure code, taking an active role in product development.
- Drive continuous improvements in functionality, scalability, and usability.
- Independently implement new features within the product and APIs.
- Conduct and engage in effective code reviews to promote a culture of learning and improvement.
- Proactively manage the technical aspects of the product, suggesting and implementing enhancements.
- Support team members’ professional growth through coaching and mentoring.
You will be a great fit if you bring the below to the team
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on SaaS back-end development
- 5+ years of experience in Python
- You have several years of recent experience with Django and Django REST
- You have experience AWS Lambda, Cognito, SES and Aurora (PostgreSQL)
- You have experience with Docker
- You have experience with Git and Github
- You have experience in leading a small team
- Hands-on – you enjoy coding as well as becoming a reference of the team
- You are a problem-solver and are data-driven, you have the ability to generate ideas to refine and translate into concrete actions
- You take a proactive approach and understand why communication is key
- You are a coach/mentor
- You are fluent in English
